Dar al-Ifta Egypt: website

as-salamu ‘alaykum,

I have been notified that Dar al-Ifta in Egypt is offering an online fatwa resource, details as follows:

Egypt’s Dar al-Ifta has been the premier institute to represent Islam and the international flagship for Islamic legal research since its establishment in 1313 AH/1895 CE. It fulfills its historic and civil role by keeping contemporary Muslims in touch with religious principles, clarifying the right way, removing doubts concerning religious and worldly life, and revealing religious law for the new issues of contemporary life. The Dar now offers a online fatwa service for English speakers. Questions are answered with one of the Dar’s muftis, assisted by a native speaker. Most questions are answered within 48 hours.

You are invited to submit questions through their web service <http://www.dar-alifta.com/FatwaRequest.aspx>; visitors can use the tabs at the top of the screen to select their preferred language. Answers are delivered through email, so you will need to leave a valid email address.[1]

Questions should be of a legal nature, and should be stated concisely as possible. It is important to include one’s approximate geographic region.

1. You can always use if you have need for anonymity.
